Teams need power forwards who can guard multiple positions. Baxter showed that ability last year. They also need rim protection which he showed really well. He’s better than Yoeli in both those areas and that is why he’s potentially a better prospect than Yoeli. His skill set has to improve because he’s too skinny to play 5 but he’ll probably add enough weight/strength to play 4. He was an RM last year so what we saw wasn’t his ceiling by any means.
Many forget that Baxter was recruited as a 6’7 guy to play forward. While he wasn’t a shooter in HS he has the necessary coordination to develop that IMO. Yoeli was probably a worse shooter as a freshman than Baxter so you never know what will happen with his jump shot.
