I wonder if Virginia coaches are more likely to stick with the profession?
Seems like many of BYU's assistants have left coaching after leaving BYU. I take this to mean that they are only interested in coaching BYU or they don't want to get caught up in moving for another coaching job (either promotion or demotion). I can't blame them for not wanting to move every few years, but that is part of the coaching lifestyle. Not super family friendly, leading to fewer church member coaches? Makes it harder to find good BYU head coaches in the long run.

Maybe church members who already moved out of Utah for their job are more likely to stick with coaching and move somewhere else when needed?
