Nobody has a practice that deals with issues like this. This is the kind of think you might take because you know the person. But, if the client understands the possible outcomes and is willing to pay your usual rate, maybe you take it under more normal circumstances.
I would hesitate to take this kind of case because the stakes are so low. I don't like billing a client a few thousand dollars when there isn't the possibility of a result that merits that kind of expense.
IMO, you should do this without an attorney. That's financial advice more than legal.
