That's easy to say... back when I was a kid, first getting my DL in 1974, no one talked about DUI, I don't even remember
there being a question on the exam for blood alcohol limits. The talk was all about HIGHWAY SPEEDS and slowing down. Oh, they had produced RED ASPHALT (CHP film on drunk driving in Cali), but it wasn't a national campaign, or at least it wasn't talk in my drivers ed in Idaho. But when I moved to Cali and they made me take Drivers Ed again to get my night driving privileges when I turned 16, then it was more prevalent.

And I'd hazard you are correct, many people who have consumed some kind of alcohol, probably have driven at least ONCE afterward. It's a dangerous world out there.
