1. It is often taught that extreme calorie restriction will cause a slowing of your metabolism so dramatic that you will stop losing or even gain weight. The truth is our metabolism can slow (and you'll feel like crap) but if you are truly maintaining a caloric deficit then you will continue to lose weight.
2. I often hear how valuable it is to have a gait analysis done when buying a running shoe. The truth is gait analysis at a running shoe store is not actually useful in helping chose "the right shoe for you". The truth is that if the shoe fits and is comfortable to you then you are less likely to be injured in it than you would be in one of those pronator correction shoes.
3. And of course my favorite. Stretching before workout (or even after with the goal of preventing injury) isn't doing what you think it is. The truth is that a dynamic warmup is best.
