I don't know if I see the NBA hiring a college coach from BYU. If that's where Pope wants to get eventually, then he likely needs to take another step in his career before moving to the NBA. I guess there have been a couple who made the jump from outside the major conferences (Reggie Theus, maybe Brad Stevens but I can't remember what conference Butler was in when he jumped), but I think hiring a BYU coach would be a hard sell in the NBA unless Pope REALLY has some major sustained national success.
