My son is a college athlete and is getting very good grades. I don't see it as being much different than students who have to work while they go to school although the athletes have some advantages those other students don't have. For instance student athlete academic centers with free tutoring, preference in registrations, ability to do things like take tests at times that fit their athletic schedule, and the list goes on and on.
