To spell things out to you so you can hopefully understand the context of it all: I was actually responding to his comment where he said we need to beat Pepperdine otherwise we'd finish in 3rd My reply was saying that even if BYU lost to both Gonzaga and Pepperdine that there's a legitimate path to still get the #2 seed even if SMC goes 2-1 (as we'd be 2-1 vs SMC and Pacific, SMC would 2-2 vs BYU and Pacific, and Pacific would be 1-2 vs BYU and SMC - I didn't spell that last part out in my post but it was clearly understood by the both of us). His response was saying he hopes that tiebreaker scenario is accurate because there's a legitimate chance all 3 of those things could happen. His "hoping that is the case" is in reference to the tiebreaker scenario I posted, not to how he hopes the season ended.
