We have had two Odysseys, both 2005s. They are heavy and hard to brake, so we go
through rotors every two years or so (~$200 in parts with pads per axle). The beast has two catalytic converters, and we have had to replace both of them on both vehicles (~$1600-2000). The high pressure power steering line has leaked on both (~$350). Second one needs new motor mounts ($1100). Power sliding door guides wear out, along with the rubber gasket along the bottom of the door opening (minimal part costs there). Lots of other nit-picky trim issues too. We are done with Odysseys.

That said, we enjoyed the ride, space, and functionality. Just too expensive for us to buy newer models or maintain the older models.

My wife is now considering a Sienna, or she will take over my Navigator and I will get a truck. I dread buying cars. Did I mention that my teenage daughter has totaled three cars (including our first odyssey) in less than two years? Lucky me?
