That reminds me of a complaint from a coworker years ago.
he had a lot of kids and had a meager income. With earned income credit, he paid no federal income taxes and got a bit of a "refund" as well.
When he got his refund one year, he bought 2 ATVs with it. He took a break during the day for licensing and registration and whatever. When he got back, he complained about the tax he had to pay for his free ATVs.
