do people really not understand this isn't "new cases"?

People that keep talking about the # of "new cases" kinda baffle me.  We have never been able to track # of cases.  If you're trying to draw any real conclusion from the # of supposed cases, you're likely wasting your time.  One important number I've never seen published is how many tests have been administered, but you'd at a bare minimum have to start there to make numbers meaningful.  But reallly you'd  have to conduct WAAAYY more testing to start drawing conclusions.  Do you really think Louisiana only had one person infected with coronavirus a week ago and now they have 200?  That's beyond silly.
