Military uses the term "fratricide" to describe mistakes where good guys........

accidentally/UNintentionally kill or wound other good guys.  In the latest example of American "fratricide", Delta Air Lines CEO, Ed Bastian announced today that Delta will be grounding 600 planes, that is a little over half of their entire fleet.  Some will be mainline Delta planes (planes either outright owned or leased directly by the company) and some will be "Delta Connection" planes like SkyWest, etc.  Delta has approximately 14,500 mainline pilots and over 40,000 mainline flight attendants.  This is a multi-billion dollar U.S. company but it is only one single company.  Now multiply these unintended consequences of knee-jerk reactions by hundreds (among Fortune 500 companies) and then into the tens of thousands for smaller companies nationwide.  That's a lot of people negatively affected.

The "do anything required/Armageddon" crowd claims those of us who think the country is largely over-reacting are heartless and don't care about people but care only about money but yet the Armageddon crowd seems to not care at all about the economic/emotional devastation this is very soon to cause.  Thinking about what each side values, it would not surprise me at all that if a poll were taken that the Armageddon crowd would generally feel more comfortable in California and the other side would be most comfortable in the middle of America, know what I mean?  No, not all, but the majority.

Anyway, I'm on record here on CB saying we're going to far.  Aggressive, selective isolation of the elderly and those with serious pre-conditions is what we need.
