run today because my office is closed and I got tired of stewing over how to try to pay my employees (three of whom are the sole income earners), all my fixed business costs, etc while I'm bringing in zero revenue over the next few weeks as we're closed.
From mile 5-6 I was off the trail on a two-lane road so I did a little experiment. I counted 42 cars pass me going in the opposite direction. Of them, in 36 of the 42 I guesstimated the driver to be over 65 years of age. 17 had handicapped tags.
I realize it was middle of the day so my sample size would be biased towards elderly people. Even so, good grief. If "social distancing" and the economic crush we are feeling is primarily to protect the "Greatest Generation", it would be nice if they'd freaking reciprocate everyone's best efforts and just stay home. If they are going to be out and about then I really get bugged not having my doors open. This stupid stay home/shut down businesses/minimize gatherings/quarantine thing only works if everyone - including the most susceptible population - is on board.
