I started counting how many old people were coming to our branch, and I counted how many transactions were “non-essential,” meaning something they could do online or at an ATM.
70% of the people I helped were old, and the rest were businesses or young people pulling out as much cash as they could. Of the 70% of old people, 85% was non essential human contact. “Hi, I’d like $80 cash, all in twenty’s please,” with an ATM fifteen feet away.
