Phil was a class act... held one of the BYU receiving records until the Smith
(what was his first name) kid broke in 90 or 91... Phil figured Smith was due to break it and brought his "record Ball" to the game.. and went down after the game and gave it to Smith.... I don't thing anyone else saw him do this... did this out of respect for the whole situation.. .not for the headline.
