They're not even considered curse words to the youngest generation, and you can barely walk five feet in public without hearing the F-word. One the other hand, words that kids threw out as casual insults back in the 80s would get you instantly fired, unfriended, etc., so it's not like the current generation doesn't have their taboo words--and far more ruthlessly enforced--they're just different swear words.
