It’s these sort of incidents that make me more understanding of why officers can
be so quick to react. Not that it excuses police brutality or abuse, cause it doesn’t, but you never know when a crazy person is going to attack an officer out of the blue. Dealing with strangers every day, they never know when one is going to escalate from a verbal to a physical confrontation. It’s a razor knife’s edge to walk between not reacting in tense situations to deescalate vs. reacting to save lives.
