The Government is Playing Russian Roulette with our economic future
Covid 19 is serious and I have been posting plenty on the opposite end as I think social distancing was/is required. But what sort of an idiot mandates it out two and a half months?

Trying to pick up the pieces from the economy not running for months will be interesting to say the least. One poor month for most businesses are tenable. Two months you are in deep trouble and 3 will do in most small businesses. Now instead of calling them poor months call them zero months. Only the caveat that you probably laid off your employees. So you are left with paying a skeleton crew for a few months with close to zero revenue and of course your fixed costs of store front, warehouses...etc.

The government is gambling that many to most businesses will just take an interest free loan (or in many cases just free money) from the new stimulus package and pick right back up where they were. Hire the same competency of worker. Go back to normal and just make up the difference somehow or write it off as a loss.

Of course this scenario ignores those workers being unable to afford rent (most mortgage companies are giving a 3-12 month forbearance on payments, I assume the same is happening commercially). Will they be allowed to stay for free? Or will they just have to pay it off later or be evicted.

Of course all of these companies offering forbearance on payments are now in trouble themselves. Where is their income coming in? Will they still offer loans knowing that some estimates call for 1/3 of the work force to lose their jobs? These are a lot of the same companies whose customers have lost 25% in the stock market and are taking their money out. Less money means less capital to lend from.

Anyway, I am sure I am missing about 15 other pieces of this. I am 100% about flattening the curve, but there comes a time when we have to go back to work. Saying that time is at least 2 1/2 months away at this point is asinine. Maybe it is, but more likely it isn't.
