The huge increase in carriers when tests became available in the US, without a
proportional increase in deaths. Also, seeing very public examples of people who had it and weren't affected much, such as NBA players.
The best case scenario is that millions in the US have had it, it's been around since November, we are only seeing the extreme minority of people being negatively affected, and myself and other people calling for this to be taken more seriously are completely wrong.
