I wonder what the false negative test rate is. For example my niece attended a conference in Washington

DC with a coworker the week before the shutdown. They were together quite a bit and traveled together. They both went into quarantine when they got home and both got sick with similar symptoms. The coworker tested positive for Covid19 and my niece's test came back negative for the virus. I suppose it's possible that despite being together they caught different but similar diseases.
