I hear lots of people who believed they had it months ago... doesn't make sense
Right now in Utah (and among other places who a testing we'll) about 5% of tests are coming back positive. That means 95% of those people have like symptoms and their docs told them to get tested.

The point being that lots of people are having a fever and cough and feel terrible but don't have it right now.

Secondly those who do have a serious case describe a loss of taste and smell, a feeling like they are drowning and massive shortage of breath. And right now there is an uptick of people dying.

So you'd have to assume a similar severity and mortality rate among these past cases and an uptick in at least pneumonia deaths.

Also regarding testing TODAY or at least when it began you'd likely see a big bump in the curve of infection as all those unknown cases got confirmed. We also didn't really see that (not to the extent that it was already widespread).

It wouldn't surprise me if there are some people who had it before anyone realized it, but in this thread alone we've identified dozens of people who think they had it, yet I bet most of you at best only know a handful of people directly who have it. I personally know no one who has it yet and given stats that is probably true for most of us.

My whole family this December had a terrible cold and fever that took them out for about a week. Mine turn it was mild and I slept it off after a day, yet I'm considered part of the vulnerable population (asthma).

I'm only saying this to say don't let a past cold give you false confidence that you are actually immune or that you can let your guard down. We'll only know if they start testing for antibodies.
