All testing numbers are wrong, some are useful
Here's an interesting article highlighting why comparing numbers between most countries is hard, if not impossible in some cases.

The tl;dr is that shockingly, everyone tests differently so confirmed cases is an awful metric of how a country is doing. It gives some good examples of how wildly different confirmed cases can be with different testing methodologies. Also how the testing peak is likely not the case peak.
