that small. 4" would work as well. I like the Carolina pumpkin/chartreuse tipped or the Ozark smoke (smoke colored with purple & black flecks). Use about a 1/0 extra wide gap hook for the three inch and I preferred rigging 4" & 5" stickbaits wacky style (in the middle). If you Texas rig the 4" and 5" stickbaits, you'd need to go to a 2/0 or 3/0 extra wide gap hook.

Tube jighead with a 3" to 3.5" tube would probably work. As would small rubber lizards, Texas rigged on the extra wide gap hooks.

Also, try a few different small plugs, like Rapalas.
