Not all "science" is science, not all science is created equal, and not all science should inspire the same confidence. But our sound bite-driven world prefers to simply talk about Science (with a capital S) as if it's all the same, all immutable, and all incontestable.
There's experimental science, observational science, a spectrum of stereotypes from hard science to soft science, social sciences that run the gamut from science all the way to arts, humanities, philosophy, and management masquerading as science (everyone wants to be a scientist these days), and on and on.
With all the COVID-19 models floating around lately, I can't help but wonder, where does what we might call "modeled science" fit in with all of this? Has big data created a new spectrum on which it can be said that not all science is created equal?
