CoachSpeak Intervention Needed
I’m sure that would pull up all sorts of stuff...
I was hoping you had something you found credible you could link us to so I could see it myself and make a decision on its credibility. I have no way to know what you find credible if you won’t supply me with an example.

You and I both know there are probably hundreds, or even thousands, of things that would turn up on both sides of the issue if I simply googled.

But if you have something credible by all means let’s see it and I’ll look at it and see what I think.

I will tell you this, I’ve seen and read plenty on the issue and my biggest issue with the claim is that it is generally framed in such a way that it matches the conclusion each group wants to reach. For instance if you want to say you’re safer if you have a gun in your house the study will list how many times someone used a gun to defend themselves from some sort of attack or invasion in their home. The thing is that doesn’t prove you are safer, you were attacked so it’s obvious you weren’t any safer because you had the gun, what it does show is that you were able to defend yourself once you were attacked but you weren’t any “safer” from being attacked in the first place.

Or on the other hand those that want to claim you’re less safe having a gun in your house will present numbers on people who died or were injured in their homes from gunshots and say “see, if that gun wasn’t there they wouldn’t have been injured or killed” and while that might be technically true it really isn’t that black and white. I’m fact the instances of people being accidentally injured or killed in their home by a gun are dwarfed as a percentage based on the number of guns that are actually in homes. In fact it is minuscule. It’s is estimated that there are hundreds of millions of guns in homes in the USA but the number of people injured by them is literally insignificant in comparison to how many of them there actually are. And that doesn’t even take into account those that are purposely self inflicted, the gun didn’t make things less safe for those people their mental makeup is what made them less safe.

It just isn’t a claim that can be logically proven either way, safer with one or less safe with one.
