Are you ICU? You would definitely know better than I do. The sense I get from

our ICU guys is that vent is hard to manage and probably not helping much, but most of the patients that we have intubated recently were gonna die anyways, regardless of the oxygenation/ventilation strategy used, so the vents wouldn't be actively contributing to our mortality rates.

Our vent survival rate so far has been much better than that. Small sample size.
