became bad blood. We never really heard why he was not retained as a coach. He avoided ever talking about it. We've never heard anything from him positive about BYU since his "retirement". I remember a quote from him when he came back to BYU after coaching at utah, saying that any active LDS RM should always go to BYU over any other school. (something like that) I don't get that impression any longer from the Kaufusi clan. I know his oldest daughter has no love for BYU. And at one time, I thought Steve and Kalani were like best friends.

We needed to keep the Kaufusi's BLUE!!
