I'm a lawyer who services both big companies and startups. I can tell you that if I was, I would go big company early in career. Once I was at the peak of my career, I'd take my experience to a startup and swing for the fences.

I was a big company guy, then went to a startup that later got acquired by a big company that I'm still at 5 yrs later.
