Jimmer didn't make the NBA, but at least he got a shot at failing there. You really think a Duke or Kansas would've given him that same shot?
Truth is, Jimmer would've had to pick up elite PG skills to have a shot at the NBA w/ his size & athletic limitations. And I'm sorry, but if he'd tried to have been a true PG in college, he woulda not only amounted to something much less than special. He would've rode the bench for 4 years, is what woulda happened. Even at BYU.
Jimmer was what he was largely because BYU & Dave Rose allowed him to take his pre-college role & max it out at the D1 level. And then he got a great NBA audition because of it.
