on top of uniforms, there would be club fees, etc. that would be nonrefundable. But it just seems like a $10 discount on next year's registration (which is what they offered) is a little sparse.

Again, I'm complaining over something like $20 so it's really not a big deal. But for them $20 times a few hundred participants equals thousands of dollars that they are pocketing (likely to cover the parent club's costs, IMO).
