I have to believe some it has to do with form. You lower body is just so much
Stronger than your upper.

I was stalled at 380 forever on squat. Some of it was I lifted alone and was nervous to do anything heavier. But I also just sturggled with the bigger weight.

My son has been going to a strength and conditioning coach 3x a week at a private gym he runs. He was the S&C coach for Oklahoma and LSU and later for White Sox, Orioles and Angles.

He invited me to start lifting there while my son was doing it. Within 3 sessions he had corrected so much my weight has shot right up. I'm no where near that old weight because I haven't lifted in 2 or so years with all the IM training. But I could almost immediately feel a difference. Some of it simple like breathing at specific points to locking my hands and rolling my elbows back.
