1) It is some work, but not really that bad, and it's fun work, IMO.
2) Your kids may not care right now, but they will learn to appreciate the wonderful flavors very quickly.
3) Having a smoker isn't always about just feeding your own family. We've enjoyed having lots of people over, and a smoker is great for that.
4) Following from 3, do you ever have people over for Thanksgiving? The smoked turkey is always a huge hit.
