I’ve lost 50 lbs since January using the LoseIt app to count calories.
Was 266 on January 4th and am 215 today. I’m 6’ 2” and turned 62 in March.
Lose it says I can have around 1800 calories/day to lose 2 lbs/week. I generally kept it to 1500 or less. I kept it more protein/fat based with limited carbs, kind of keto maybe.
Biggest thing for me was portion control. For example. Would grill a 10 or 12 oz steak for dinner, but would only eat half of it, with the rest going in the fridge to be used in the morning diced up in scrambled eggs. 6 oz steak and 3 oz baked potato is actually very filling.
Stopped tracking a week or so ago, but had a streak of 130 consecutive days of weighing and tracking everything.
Having a food scale and weighing everything is vital if you are serious about losing the weight.
