LOL. They’ll be taking pay cuts regardless. They’re willing to take pay cuts.
They’re just trying to get the best deal possible. Is there something wrong with that?

And how is the average person required to sacrifice but the players are not? If the players don’t sacrifice by taking less money then there won’t be baseball and they won’t get paid. And the regular person isn’t required to sacrifice; some have had to take pay cuts to keep their jobs, just like the players will have to do this season. If those employees don’t want to do that then they don’t have to keep working, just like the players. In fact, the regular person being “forced” to sacrifice has a lot more options than the MLB players. They may be able to find a job that pays them similarly to their pre-COVID compensation, or another job that pays more than what they are asked to sacrifice. That’s not true for the players. Either they take a pretty good pay cut or they have no other options to come anywhere close to their regular compensation.
