I d go with Wailea
1)Beaches in the area are great
2)Not a ton of cheap food as the area is probably the nicest on the island, but Kihei is really close by with a lot of reasonable options

Go wailea. The beach is nice although it’s a couple hundred feet from the hotel

We stayed at the Kaanapali. Beaches were flawless. Can't speak to the others.

Wailea has a better beach and I like that area better than the kaanapali area.

We stayed at the Wailea Marriott. Of your choices on Maui, it's the best one.

We loved Wailea. Beach/snorkeled near the resort, ate all of our meals in Kihei.
