Thoughts on profit sharing? (either for the team or just key people?)
Do any of you who own your own business, or are in a leadership position, have a profit-sharing system in place? If so, do you feel like it contributes to improved teamwork, morale, unity, long-term retention?

I'm starting to think about the idea of putting in something for my team - my initial idea is to base a profit-share off of GROWTH from our current level. However I'm not sure I like the idea of doing it on a monthly basis since that can be influenced by a client or two prepaying for their full service, or our bookkeeper being gone on vacation and billing being a few days later than usual, etc.

Anyway, curious if any of you have a profit-share in place? If so, do you feel it beneficial? What about a profit-share for people in management positions, essentially a way to reward those who have leadership roles and can positively impact/lead/encourage other team?
