I've put Montreal seasoning on a tri-tip & grilled using a rotisserie.
It cooked evenly and was fantastic. My next attempt will be to smoke it, then sear it.

Completely agree. I’d much rather eat tri-tip than just about any beef.

No doubt. There's a reason you have to smoke brisket for 12+ hours to make it edible.

Sure it is. It just takes a lot of work to make it so. Tri-tip is the opposite. Almost impossible to screw up.
