Land Cruisers are nice. Awesome and capable vehicles. But when you have something as simple as a steering wheel that can be found in the Sienna and in the upscale Land Cruiser you start to lose some of the folks who appreciate and search a more bespoke design. The repair downtime, which is almost always warranty work, is fine for those first time owners to feel like they have something a bit more special for their daily drives.
A Cruiser may best a Rover in countless measures and quality ratings. But shared parts and platform is, at times, a turn off for some parts of the market.
