treated kind of harshly and now the white coach is supposed to come in and be the new hero.

Willie Taggart was thrown into a tough situation and struggled and was given a short leash. Fired with 3 games to go, even though it was likely that his team would win 2 of them to become bowl-eligible at 6-6. I can understand the administration saying that it was a business decision, that they thought they would lose too much revenue because fans had lost confidence in Taggart.

But regardless you can imagine that the majority of players who are black and who perhaps were even recruited by Taggart might not be so in love with the new white coach Norvell. That would be in the spirit of their movement to make a big deal out of falsehoods spoken publicly by their coach (which the coach did in order to try to make himself look good.)

Even if they were being somewhat merciful and did not now stage a player protest, it would be consistent with the good parts of their movement to publicly call out the deceit of their white coach when he lies about how sensitive and caring he is.
