If BYU wins the WCC in a year that GU comes into the year ranked #1 and has one of their best recruiting classes EVER... AND BYU comes into the year after losing 6 seniors, adds some transfers and has a under-experienced backcourt... Maybe Covid-19 isn't the worst thing to happen to planet earth in the last 90 years. If that happens, I'll be looking for the apocalypse to begin shortly after.

Pope is a great coach.. but he's not a miracle worker. Give him another year or two and he'll be challenging for league titles. The reality is, with ALL-WCC talent, seniors-- Childs, Hawes and Toolson, BYU finished 2 games behind the Zags in the regular season and won zero games in the WCC tournament. This was the year that GU was ripe to be beaten. Remember GU lost 4 players to profesional ball along with 2 other seniors who got meaningful minutes.
