Place with 100 or 150' of open grass. Put a hoola hoop or some kind of target in front of you and just start whipping. Nothing can substitute for repetition. I always tell beginners to watch your back cast. Dont worry about looking cool. Watching your line straighten out behind you helps with timing while you are really getting a feel for the line loading against the rod as it straightens out. Dont worry about casting 75' at first, form is more important. Only get as much line out as you can handle while keeping it out of the dirt and avoiding tying knots in your leader. When you are confident enough to fish, go to a stillwater first. Its much easier to get a feel for everyrhing in a lake than in a river. Small mountain lakes are the best because the fish are usually easy to catch. Good luck! There is no better hobby.
