It is restrictive in that maintaining a keto lifestyle long term is not feasible for most people. I get that.
I haven't committed to living it long term, but I'll admit that it has crossed my mind. I just feel so much better when I'm in ketosis.

Back on keto starting today. The main impetus is that I've gained about 10 lbs since I got off it mid-March.
