BYU was pretty darn good against running teams. OU was not great defending the pass. Testaverde threw for 270 or so. Miami had a great defense and some serious star power on offense. BYU was a little bit inconsistent, but they would have been up for that game and I think a game at a neutral location would have been very good.
By the way, I don’t blame Switzer. He had a tough schedule and he won the NC. Adding BYU wouldn’t have done anything but risk that.
