I am bored, so I decided I will run through for you my favorite 21 golf courses I have had the opportunity to play. I will do one a day for the next 21 days. Why 21? I don’t know other than it’s my favorite number.
Perhaps for some of you this will peak your interest in a new course to play, or for others it will bring back good (or bad) memories...or maybe you just like golf. If this sounds boring to you, please ignore. Otherwise enjoy.

Having grown up in the Los Angeles area, I can personally testify the public golf courses in the LA area suck. If you like five hour rounds and poorly maintained golf courses, LA is perfect for you.
Well there is at least one exception. In 2001, a little known architect by the name of Gil Hanse produced a true gem in Moorpark, north of Los Angeles. It was a true coming out party for Gil, whose career took off thereafter. He produced some nice original holes while also brilliantly carving some traditional template holes into the mix.
I don’t think it’s hyperbole when I say it is easily the LA area’s best public course (trump national LA would be my clear second) Hard and fast, built in a riverbed of sand the course allows for lots of strategy and creative golf shots. Honestly, the first time I played this course 10 years or so ago, it blew me away. I love it more every time I play, it is a complete blast...hence the spot on my top 21.
