TV contracts are usually based on total games.

And it's not like it's just G5 games getting cut. USC won't play Bama or ND, Arizona doesn't play Texas Tech, Stanford doesn't play ND, CU doesn't play aTm, Cal doesn't play TCU, Oregon doesn't play OH ST, OR ST doesn't play OK ST, UW doesn't play Michigan, and if we're including BYU as a big TV draw, Utah, ASU, and Stanford all don't play BYU.
