Too expensive unless you are staying relatively close.
We looked at doing a 2 week cross country trip and it was going to cost close to $6k because of all the mileage fees

If you’re looking for a fairly local it could work. Most rentals have a 100 mile

Cheaper to stay at a nice motel. They are difficult to drive. And smelly.
