I got sick and tired of the sloppy front end on our SUV.
I've been putting it off for a year now, but finally got around to changing front struts on our Acadia. It was super sloppy and dangerous. Signs you need new struts: Rebound bounce, you go over a bump and instead of feeling just that bump you feel it and multiple rebound bounces. Going on the interstate and hitting a pothole felt like the car would start skating and shifting to the side for just a moment.

Well after a little research it looked very doable and it was. I would say it was easy. It took me about 2 hours to replace both front struts. Took it out for a spin last night and it was so much better. I highly advise anyone with a sloppy front end to do it yourself and save over $300. I went with the KYB Strut Plus struts and got them off of RockAuto. I think for the pair I paid $340. You can do it with a lot cheaper strut, but I didn't want to skimp in this case. Now just have to go get the alignment done so maybe another $75-$100 where it is only the front end. Working on cars is somewhat enjoyable for me, when it is easy.
