At my last job every once a month someone in our office would have to go out
and attend some meetings "in the field," meaning that we'd meet at the location for a proposed traffic light, crosswalk, or other traffic improvement and discuss what was needed and decide the path forward. A lot of them were along the Wasatch Front, but every now and then we'd have one in a place like Vernal or Richfield. I loved when those meetings got assigned to me. I got a break from the office, I could listen to the radio or podcasts, and decompress for a while. I could imagine that doing that everyday could get tiresome, but doing it every once in a while was a real treat.
