crazy situation, and people will understand that. BYU had its best schedule ever lined up, and it might turn into its worst schedule ever. Throughout the season it'll probably be repeated over and over how horribly BYU got screwed more than anyone else. Not that having that repeated will really help the sting/situation, but I don't think people will say BYU is now forever G5 or worse. BYU might actually come out of this better situated than many P5 schools that aren't on as solid of financial footing as BYU is.

That said...this is one negative of independence that I never imagined. And it sucks. I've always been pro independence, and still am (for now), but being independent and NOT being Notre Dame puts us in a terrible situation (in this already terrible situation). It will be very interesting to see how this all plays out, and what TH is able to negotiate schedule-wise if a partial season is played. I don't envy him in his job right now at all.
