That guy's me for sure. But I'm coaching this year, so not just a dad.
I certainly get irritated when I feel like the guys on my team can't get much of a leadoff because of all the things the pitcher is doing (not coming to a stop, moving his hands multiple times after set, turning/flinching shoulders during set, etc.). I feel like the umpires in my league let way too much go. The kids are 13/14, they should be able to learn what is a balk and what isn't.

I try not to get on the umps too much about it. I stay fairly calm. I know the umps aren't doing this for the money. Parents from both sides are already yelling in his ear. But balk no calls can irritate me more than other things.

Any advice on how to approach the umps on this? I think I've only seen 2 balks called in all of our games this season.
